Hi y’all! With Valentine’s Day being tomorrow, I have been thinking a lot lately about all of the things I could do to make my man feel special. We both feel that Valentine’s Day is a silly holiday, because we don’t need one day to show each other we love each other. We try to show our love for one another each day! However, I will say that I am a sucker for a good date night, and Valentine’s Day is just as good of a day as any other to plan a romantic night with your significant other.
One thing that I wanted to address is that I feel strongly about doing as much for my man as he does for me. Traditionally, Valentine’s Day is a romantic holiday for men to get their wife or girlfriend chocolates and cute teddy bear.. but it’s 2020 guys! I don’t know about you, but I want to do all I can to make my man feel special and appreciated.
With that being said, I have curated a small list of ideas for ways that you can make your man feel special on Valentine’s Day!
Make Him a Romantic Home-Cooked Meal
Making your significant other a home-cooked meal is such an underrated way to show them appreciation. Most men LOVE food, especially when their special lady makes it for them. If you’re not the best cook in the world, have no fear, it’s 2020 and that is what Pinterest is for! I’ve linked a few options that are just delicious and pretty easy to make.
Making a meal for your significant other, is a great way to say I love you. Cooking takes time and patience, and plus a romantic dinner at home allows you to spend special one on one time together while you dive into your delicious meal.
Buy Him a Small Meaningful Gift
One of the most thoughtful things you could do for your man on Valentine’s Day is to get him something that he has been asking for. By showing that you listen to him and remember what he says, you will show him that you truly care.
This does not have to be an expensive gift. For example, my boyfriend has been making comments over the past couple of months about needing house slippers. Now, I know this is something that he just won’t go out and buy for himself. So for me, this would be a really sweet and thoughtful gift that I know he would appreciate.
Devote Time to Doing Something He Loves To Do
This one is HUGE! Men often enjoy spoiling their women, which I have to say is always appreciated. However, it is time we do the same for them! Every couple has things that they like to do together, but what your man would truly appreciate is if you devoted some time to doing something he really loves to do.
This may watching a sports game, going to a specific place for dinner, playing a certain game.. whatever it may be, consider planning a day or evening of doing what he really loves to do! Your effort will not go unnoticed!
Put Together a Small Gift Basket of His Favorite Snacks
Now this one is something I like to do randomly from time to time to show Matthew I care. Plus, if you’re looking for an option that won’t break the bank, this is the way to go! Everyone has snacks or treats that they love. And what’s better than receiving a little gift basket of your favorite things?
For example, I like to put together a little basket of Matt’s favorite cookies, chips and drinks! It’s a small gesture that is so thoughtful and your significant other is sure to love it.
Leave Him Little Notes Around The House
This option is a little more personal, and honestly in my opinion, is one of the sweetest things to do. Notes are not every couples thing and that is fine! It really depends on what your love language is, and I highly recommend reading The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love that Lasts by Gary Chapman, if you haven’t already!
If you are into writing little notes to your significant other, I think this is a thoughtful way you can let your significant other know you care about them on Valentine’s Day. And again, it won’t break the bank.
The notes should really come from your heart, but I like to write down things that I love about my man. I like to write down 4 or 5 thoughts on post-it notes and spread them around the house, on the microwave, on the bathroom mirror, on his car steering wheel.. you get the idea.
I hope these Valentine’s Day ideas have inspired you to get to work on how you are going to show your loved on that you are thinking about them. And remember, these ideas are great for Valentine’s Day just as they are for any other day of the year!
